Taxonomy refers to the way things organized and the way they are related to one another. It is a set of categories organized on the basis of a single semantic relationship. However, taxonomy shows more of the relationship among the things inside the cultural domains.
To make a taxonomy analysis, I tried to find a new cultural domain. I went to a café net near my house to see a social situation. In the café net I found many young boys are playing on computer. They were laughing. Most of them looked serious while playing on computer. There were some young adult men wearing glasses also working on computer. I asked the operator about the boys’ activities since they looked serious and sometimes laugh. The operator said that the boys were playing online game.
I then went to a small room with segment left and right with written big number seven. I operated the computer and started browsing. I finally found a cultural domain is “kinds of website”.
From the diagrams above, I found similarities from the website. I categorize kinds of website into 3: Information, the websites which give information about someone’s life, actual issues, sports update, international news, definition, academic terms and other kinds of information. Sharing, the websites which are chosen to upload and download file, music, video with free or paid version and also to make an online transaction. Entertainment, the websites which are chosen as an entertainment for the user and the way of acquaintance among people around the world.
